WTAMU Literary Magazine Seeks Love-Themed Submissions – The Amarillo Pioneer

Both bitter and sweet Valentine’s Day stories are being sought for the next issue of West Texas A&M University’s literary magazine, The Legacy.

Submissions from WT students, alumni, faculty and staff must be submitted by midnight Feb. 11 for the “Bloody or Beloved Valentines” issue, said Dr. Eric Meljac, Legacy Advisor, Assistant Professor of English and Principal. creative writing.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three stories, which should approach romance from a macabre or love perspective, Meljac said.

“We love sweet, loving stories, but it’s the macabre stories that really excite our readers,” Meljac said. “We can’t wait to see what lies ahead.”

Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] in .doc, .docx or .rtf format. They must include the author’s name as they wish it to be published; their major and classification or year of graduation; their department, whether faculty or staff; and an email address and phone number.

The issue should be available online by February 21.

Fostering an appreciation for the arts is a key mission of the University’s long-term plan, WT 125: From begging to the world.

This plan is fueled by the historic amount of $125 million one west huge fundraising campaign. To date, the five-year campaign — which launched publicly on September 23 — has raised more than $85 million.
