Michael Crawford Named Director of Strategic Partnerships for Western Governors University

In response to Michigan’s continued growth, Western Governors University (WGU) in Utah has announced that Michael Crawford will be the online university’s new strategic partnerships manager.

He brings to this position more than 10 years of experience in the academic, research and strategic development fields. Crawford will be responsible for expanding WGU’s impact and vision for Michigan learners, workers, and organizations by supporting and developing networks of academic and employer relations.

“Each of our Strategic Partnership Managers is essential to building relevant and meaningful relationships to continue our efforts to expand educational opportunities for current and prospective students,” said Alison Bell, WGU Regional Vice President. “We are thrilled to have Michael join us in making an even greater impact for Michigan learners.”

A Michigan native, Crawford earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, his master’s degree from Michigan State University, and his doctorate from the University of Kansas.

“I am honored to join the WGU team and expand higher education opportunities in my home state of Michigan,” says Crawford. “By joining forces with WGU to invest in learners from all backgrounds, I hope to play an important role in supporting students who want to learn and advance their careers, contributing to a more stronger and fairer in Michigan.”
