Literary magazine CR accepts submissions – Times-Standard

The Seven Gill Shark Review, the literary magazine of the College of the Redwoods, currently accepts submissions of original poetry, fiction and non-fiction from members of the Humboldt County community, as well as staff, faculty and students. of the CR Eureka campus. The submission period is currently open until 11:59 p.m. on March 11, 2022.

Poetry submissions may consist of up to four pieces, limited to three pages. Short stories are limited to 2,000 words, essays are limited to 2,500 words, double-spaced, and people can submit up to two short stories or essays. Applications should be emailed to [email protected] and sent as an attachment.

All entries will be considered for the top prizes offered by Eureka Books and Tin Can Mailman. The first prize in each category will be awarded at $ 35 in gift certificates.

If the situation permits, a public reading event is scheduled for all selected submissions. This reading will take place in May 2022 on the Eureka campus. The date and location will be posted on the RC website.
