Bulk Waste Drop-Off Site (Pilot Program)

In order to continue to improve services for Cape Coral residents, the City is partnering with Waste Pro to provide residents with a bulk waste drop-off site. The site is a complementary service and an addition to the collection of residential bulk items already provided. Citizens can always drop off their bulky items at the curb on the day of their collection.

The bulky waste drop-off site is a pilot program that started on January 11, 2022 and will run for one year. After evaluating public response, the City will decide whether or not to open a permanent location.

The bulky waste drop-off site will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The facility is fenced and staff will be on hand to assist residents as needed.

The items accepted at the bulky items drop-off point are as follows:

  • Bulky waste acceptable includes all debris that weighs more than 50 pounds or cannot fit in the cart, can, or garbage bag, excluding appliances.
  • Unacceptable bulky waste includes motor vehicles or boats, vehicle components (excluding wheels and tires) and liquid waste including paint, hazardous waste or industrial waste. Unacceptable litter also includes construction and demolition debris, trees or tree stumps, tree branches over four inches in diameter or over 6 feet in length (excluding leaves of palm).
  • Acceptable white goods include household appliances, such as refrigerator, washing machine. clothes dryer, freezer, air conditioner, water heater or similar items.
  • Garbage, recyclables and household chemical waste are NOT accepted on site.

Commercial businesses are not permitted to use the facility, as the program is an optional service for residential use only. Proof of residency may be required to dispose of items.
